About iPer (or iPer TOOL)
iPer HyperPublish PRO started as "iPer" in 1995 when the author was at Politecnico di Torino (a renowned tech University in Italy), that software has been is Thesis.
The first final version of iPer was released in February 1996 and abstracts about its original interface design were published for the first time within the papers of the ED-Media '97 World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia, and Telecommunications in Calgary (
we archived the EDMedia 97 Paper about Iper here...); to give some context at that time the Web was so new that the EDMedia conference did not have a web site - and the papers were not permanently published on Web: just some references in educational sources that are now disappeared.
It has been the first
WYSIWYL tool (probably also the first WYSIWYG, but WYSIWYL is something more, this means that you can also navigate links while editing, with a double click - a UNIQUE feature).
The majority of modifications and improvements to HyperPublish are as a direct result of users suggestions, and these are always welcomed (
hyperpublish@visualvision.com).
